BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide derived from a sequence found in human gastric juice. Preclinical work reports effects on angiogenesis, fibroblast migration and the integrity of the gastrointestinal mucosa, including protection against NSAID-induced injury. Oral administration has been used in much of that animal literature, which is unusual among peptides. Human trial data remain limited.
